Response Details:
Let's start by definning the the prefixes
centi= 10^-2 0r 1/100
milli= 10^-3 or 1/1000
kilo= 10^3 or 1000

so 1 meter = 100 centimeters = 1000 millimeter
     1 kilogram = 1000 grams = 1000000 milligrams

So in order to find out how many centimeter in 5 meter multiply 100 centimeters by 5.
