Hello,
I'm thoroughly confused by this concept, and need to understand this.  Please help. I need to know how to do this within a couple of hours of this posting too.  Thank you for your help in advance.
 
The 10-lb hoop or thin ring is given an initial angular velocity of 6 rad/s when it is placed on the surface.  If the coefficient of kinetic friction between the hoop and the surface is μk = 0.3, determine the distance the hoop moves before it stops spinning.
