Question Details:
A magnetic pickup is used to detect the shaft speed of a turbocharger. A standard hexagonal nut is used to excite the pickup. If the shaft is turning at 50,000 rpm, how many positive pulses will be created per second? By what number should the number of counts in a second be multiplied by to produce a result in rpm?

Please show all work, will rate lifesaver!!

a hexagonal nut contains 6 faces
ie, for every revolution it gives 6 pulses
 
shaft revolutions/minute = 50,000
shaft revolutions/second = 50,000/60=833.33 REV/S
pulses created/sec = 833.33*6 =5000
 
let "x" be the counts that is multiplyed
 
5000*x=50,000
   x=10
