Question Details:
Question: Using super position, find io



Answer: 0.11111

Anyone else get an answer of 0.22222? I've attempted this question 3 different times and each time I get 0.2222A.

Please help.

do your arrow symbols mean that there is 4 A through the 3 ohm resistor and 2 A through the 5 ohm resistor? Or are the 4 A and 2 A through wires with no resistance? If you can clarify this, it would be easier to answer your question.

They are current sources without resistance. What I did was source transformation to simplify

well principal of super position is simple divide problem into parts caculate your anwers in each part. At the end sum up all answers . you are done .
It has two principals to do that, check out that if you used them correctly

1- replace Voltage sources with short circuit, leave current sources as it is, simplfy circuit and get your answer

2- then replace Current sources with open circuits , simplfy circiut, and get your asnwer
3- sum up both answers, you are done.
 
one thing I was not sure in the diagram that ,  io   stands for what.  total current by the source  or the current just passing through 4 ohm resister.
