Many- to- Many relation ship with an entity:

When an instance of an entity may be related to multiple instances of another entity and vice versa, that is called a “many-to-many relationship
".
 
Example: Supplier may provide many different products, and each type of product may be offered by many suppliers: 
 
 

 

Multivalued Attribute:

 

A multivalued attribute M of an entity E is represented by a separate table EM

Table EM has attributes corresponding to the primary key of E and an attribute corresponding to multivalued attribute M

In database, an entity is a single person, place, or thing about which data can be stored.
Entity Instance:
A specific occurence of a defined business object that is eventually represented as a row in a table.
