CHEM 152 PL#2.2a
Course Textbook Chapter Problem
General Chemistry N/A N/A N/A
Question Details:
Consider the data below for a different set of standard solutions:

Sample [Ferroin] (M) Absorbance
Standard 1 (1.00 10-5 M) 0.121
Standard 2 (2.25 10-5 M) 0.278
Standard 3 (3.50 10-5 M) 0.424
Standard 4 (4.75 10-5 M) 0.573
Standard 5 (6.00 10-5 M) 0.728

a) Using Excel, plot the Absorbance vs. [ferroin] (M) and find the equation for the calibration curve. “y = mx + b” corresponds to "Abs = m*[ferroin] + b". Report the slope (m) and y-intercept (b).

m (3 significant figures) = WebAssign will check your answer for the correct number of significant figures.
b (2 significant figures) = WebAssign will check your answer for the correct number of significant figures.

the exel plot is like this
here the intercept is obtained by extending the line to cut the y-axis
