Question Details:
When heated, ammonium carbonate decomposes as follows.

NH4CO2NH2(s) reverse reaction arrow 2 NH3(g) + CO2(g)

At a certain temperature the equilibrium pressure of the system is 0.318 atm. Calculate KP for the reaction.

Decomposition of NH­CO2NH2
 
NH4CO2NH2(s) reverse reaction arrow 2 NH3(g) + CO2(g)
 
Total gas pressure is 0.318atm let x be the initial pressure of CO2 and for NH­3 it will be 2x.
3x= 0.318
x= 0.106atm
 Kp = PNH32 PCO2= (0.212)2*(0.106)= 4.76x10-3
