Question Details:
Write a reaction to justify whether the oxide Li2O(2 is a subscript in Li2O) gives an acidic, basic or neutral solution when dissolved in water.

Li2O   + H2O   ----> 2LiOH
 
LiOH is very strongly basic.......Li2O is a basic anhydride
