how are they x=-1 and x=1, when you find the vertical asymptote by I thought you couldnt take a square root from a negative number.  I will rate you life saver if you could help me out here.  And if by chance you could tell me where the derivative does not exist so when the denominator is equal to 0.

Horizontal Asymptote at y=1...
No Horizontal Asymptotes.... Because when you set the denominator equal to zero you get imaginary numbers (not real)...
